This privacy policy explains what information HeartCode processes when you visit this site, build a website, purchase a website, receive your website details, or use a website created through HeartCode.

HeartCode does not require an account

HeartCode is a no-signup website builder. You do not need to create an account, choose a username, create a profile, or maintain an account with us to build or purchase a website.

Because there is no user account system, HeartCode does not maintain an account profile containing your website-building information.

Information you enter into a build form

When you build a website, you may enter information such as names, messages, dates, relationship details, memories, music links, and other information requested by the particular website template you choose.

The information requested depends on the website type you are creating. Some templates may request a recipient's date of birth so that the generated website can calculate and display their age as part of the personalized experience.

You decide what information to enter into the build form. HeartCode does not require you to enter sensitive personal information and does not encourage you to include sensitive personal information in the content of your website.

Do not enter passwords, payment card details, government identification numbers, financial account information, authentication credentials, or other sensitive information into a website build form.

How build-form information is processed

The information you enter into a build form is temporarily processed to generate your personalized website.

HeartCode does not require this information to create a user account. Information submitted during the website-building process is processed for the purpose of generating the website and is then discarded in accordance with the website's data-processing system.

HeartCode does not use the information entered into a build form to create a personal profile about you.

Preview information

HeartCode allows you to generate and view a preview of your website before completing your purchase.

Generating a preview does not by itself create a user account or require you to provide your email address.

The information used to generate a preview is processed for the purpose of displaying the requested website experience.

Information that remains in your deployed website

A deployed HeartCode website is personalized using the information you chose to include in it.

Information such as names, messages, dates, memories, images, music links, or other content may therefore remain as part of the deployed website after the website has been created.

This information remains because it is part of the website you asked HeartCode to create. It is not retained as a separate user account or personal profile for you.

If information is visible on a publicly accessible website, anyone who can access that website may be able to see that information. You should therefore consider the information you include before deploying your website.

Public and password-protected websites

Every HeartCode website supports password protection.

When you deploy your website, you can choose whether to make it publicly accessible or protect it with a password.

If you choose not to use password protection, anyone who has access to the website address may be able to view the website and the information contained in it.

If you choose password protection, visitors must provide the password you selected before they can access the protected website.

Password protection controls access to the deployed website. It does not change the information you entered while creating the website or prevent you from voluntarily sharing the website or its password with another person.

Your email address

HeartCode collects your email address when it is required to complete a website purchase and deliver your website details.

Filling out a build form and generating a preview does not, by itself, require you to provide an email address.

Your email address is used to associate your completed purchase with the website details that need to be delivered to you and to provide the relevant confirmation or recovery functionality.

Confirmation emails

Once your website has been successfully deployed, a confirmation email containing your website details is sent to the email address provided during checkout.

The email may contain information such as your deployed website address and other details required to access or manage the website.

Your email address is not used to create a HeartCode account.

Website recovery emails

HeartCode provides a way to request website details if you lose the original website information provided after purchase.

Where this recovery feature requires your checkout email address, the email address is used to locate the relevant purchase and send the corresponding website details.

This process is designed to provide access to your own website information and is not intended to provide access to another customer's website information.

Payment information

Payments for HeartCode websites are processed through Paystack.

HeartCode does not collect or store your payment card number, card security code, or other payment card credentials through the HeartCode website.

Payment information is handled by Paystack as part of the payment process. Paystack has its own privacy policy and terms governing the information it processes.

HeartCode receives the payment information and transaction information made available to it by the payment provider where required to confirm and fulfil a purchase.

Payment confirmation

HeartCode uses payment confirmation information to determine whether a website purchase has been successfully completed and whether the requested website can be deployed.

Payment confirmation may also be associated with the email address supplied during checkout so that HeartCode can provide the purchased website details and support website recovery where applicable.

Your IP address

Your IP address may be processed transiently when you use HeartCode.

HeartCode uses your IP address at the time of your visit to determine which currency should be displayed for prices based on your apparent location.

The currency displayed may change depending on the location associated with your IP address. The underlying price charged at checkout is not increased or reduced because of the currency displayed.

Your IP address is also used transiently for basic rate limiting and abuse prevention.

HeartCode does not permanently store your IP address for these purposes.

Cookies and browser storage

HeartCode may use cookies, local browser storage, session storage, or similar browser technologies where they are required for the operation of the website, the website-building process, security, or user preferences.

These technologies may be used to maintain temporary state while you build or preview a website.

HeartCode does not use these technologies to create a user account or personal profile.

If third-party services used by HeartCode place their own cookies or similar technologies, those services may have their own privacy policies governing their use of such technologies.

AI-assisted features

Some HeartCode experiences may offer optional AI assistance to help improve or refine wording entered while creating a website.

AI assistance is optional. You can choose whether to use it when the feature is available.

When you use an AI-assisted feature, the information required to provide that feature may be processed by the AI service used by HeartCode.

HeartCode does not require you to submit sensitive personal information to use its AI-assisted features.

You should not enter passwords, payment information, government identification numbers, authentication credentials, or other sensitive information into an AI-assisted feature.

Third-party services

HeartCode uses third-party services where necessary to operate particular parts of the service.

These services may include payment processing, email delivery, hosting, infrastructure, security, abuse prevention, analytics, or optional AI functionality.

A third-party service may process information on behalf of HeartCode or process information under its own terms and privacy policy depending on how that service is integrated.

HeartCode only uses information required for the relevant function and does not create a user account system around the information you provide.

Data retention

HeartCode is designed to minimize the information it retains.

Information submitted through the website-building process is temporarily processed for the purpose of generating and deploying the requested website and is then discarded according to the relevant processing system.

Information that is intentionally included in a deployed website may remain available as part of that website for as long as the website remains deployed.

Information required for payment confirmation, transaction records, customer support, website recovery, legal obligations, security, or abuse prevention may be retained for the period necessary for those purposes.

Information you choose to publish

HeartCode allows you to create websites containing personal messages and other information chosen by you.

You are responsible for deciding what information you include in your website and whether the website should be publicly accessible or password protected.

Before deploying a website, make sure that the information you include is appropriate for the people who may be able to access it.

HeartCode does not require you to include sensitive personal information in a website.

Information about another person

You may create a HeartCode website for another person, such as a friend, partner, family member, or other recipient.

If you provide information about another person, you are responsible for making sure that you have a reasonable basis to provide that information and to use it in the website you create.

Only provide information that is appropriate for the purpose of the website and avoid including sensitive information unless it is necessary and appropriate.

Children

HeartCode is not designed to collect sensitive information about children.

Do not use HeartCode to submit a child's sensitive personal information or information that you would not want to appear in a deployed website.

How we use information

Information processed by HeartCode may be used only where necessary to:

• Generate and preview the website you request.
• Deploy the website you purchase.
• Confirm and fulfil your payment.
• Send your website details and confirmation email.
• Provide website recovery functionality.
• Provide customer support.
• Prevent abuse and excessive automated requests.
• Maintain and secure the service.
• Comply with applicable legal obligations.
• Provide optional features that you explicitly choose to use, including AI-assisted wording features.

We do not sell your personal information

HeartCode does not sell your personal information.

HeartCode does not require an account and does not build advertising profiles from the information you enter into website-building forms.

Data security

HeartCode uses reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect information while it is being processed.

No internet service can guarantee that information transmitted over the internet will always remain completely secure. You should therefore avoid submitting sensitive information that is not necessary for the website you are creating.

Links to other websites

A HeartCode website may contain links to third-party websites or services, including links intentionally added by the person creating the website.

HeartCode does not control the privacy practices of third-party websites. When you follow a third-party link, the privacy policy of that third party applies to its processing of your information.

Changes to this privacy policy

HeartCode may update this privacy policy when the service, its features, or its data-processing practices change.

When this policy is updated, the revised version will be published on this page with its updated date.
